Wow, in the home stretch here - waiting for Baby Ethan to make his entrance. We. Are. So. Excited.
Let's see - here's some memorable points
Since moving to Florence in late July and discovering the pregnancy in August life has been on fast forward - or has it?
Some days yes - some days no.
Little man has been with me thru my birthday, a visit from my sister and brother in law from Michigan. Flying to Dallas for a banking conference in October. Thanksgiving, Christmas and a very sober New Year's Eve. Not to mention that on Robby's birthday (dec 20) I was hospitalized with a kidney infection / possible stone. Most excruciating night of my life. Thankfully, Robert Ethan hung in there and flourished anyway.
Ethan's been in my tummy long enough to see Ayla go from toddler to full- fledged pre- schooler. She is 100% potty trained and so incredibly advanced that strangers are asking us if she's 4 yet. More on her in a minute.
Ethan has seen Valentine's day, daddy's new job, snow in February (of which I was not happy about) to now planning the construction of our first home.
Somehow, I think this boy will fit right in with our family just perfectly. He has just gone with the flow and let us do our thing for the most part.
I have been far more tired this whole time compared to Ayla but there are so many differences. 1. We have a child already 2. My job is FAR more demanding than CFSB - no complaints about that here. I love being busy at work! 3. Robby's schedule has gone from working from home to back in the branch environment. 4. Did I mention Ayla - she's non-stop!
In any event, we are so ready to see Ethan. Touch him, hug him, kiss him. His timing was so unexpected but such a blessing for our family.
Ayla Sydne - what a girl!! She got her ears pierced in January. I couldn't believe she actually went thru with it! She is learning to read common words and can already spell her name. Some of her baby books (Moo, bah, la la la & Goodnight Moon) she can read to us. She makes up silly songs and has a wild fascinating imagination! We also are seeing signs that she's left handed. But the jury's still out on that one. Her teachers at school want to test her for the gifted program this fall. Her school goes to 4k and we've heard several staff members remark that she's the smartest kid in the whole school. Obviously, we are beyond proud of her! Which is a double-edged sword. A lot is expected of her at school and when she doesn't follow - she spends time in quiet time - A LOT! But part of it is consequences that she must learn to live with. Overall, she's very well behaved and an absolute joy to be around. She was never a clingy baby - always too busy to get to the next milestone. But now she is huggy, kissy and just generally affection and cuddly all the time. She is the first one to say "I love you so much mommy". Melts my heart every time.
Well, next time you hear from us we'll be a family of 4!!!
