Where did all these words come from???

In just the last few days (since the last post) Ayla has really started to say LOTS of words!!!

- Bye bye (with a matching wave)
- Hi
- button (for belly button)
- puppy (she has been saying this for a few weeks)
-Daddy (again, for a while now)
- Momo (milk)
- beeeechhh (suppposed to be beach)
-shosssss (shoes)
- up (with a point up the stairs)
- bath
-eat, eat, eat, eat (said as a chant with the sign language for eat at the same time)
-If you ask what a cow says she says "moooooo"
-and just last night I asked her to say "Madi" (her BFF) and she "Mad Mad" it wasn't very clear, but I totally know what she meant.

She is seriouslytrying to communicate like crazy, most of it is jabberwocky but some of it we totally get since she is great about pointing to what she's talking about.

Her ability to like some music over other types is funny too. We have a hilarious video (i mean side-splitting funny) of her dancing to Nicki Minaj's Super Bass. It included leg kicks, clapping, an adorable head bob among other cute moves. The video was taken just before bath/bed time so she was just in her diaper so we aren't posting... It seems she does the cutest things when just wearing a diaper.
Our new house has stairs so like good (worried) parents we thought our one wooden baby gate wouldn't be good enough. So we went and bought walk-thru gates for the top and bottom of the stairs. Turns out that we don't even need one for the bottom and our wooden one works just fine for the top of the stairs. So thankfully, we returned the 2 fancy gates and got our money back. Who knew baby gates would be so darn expensive.
All we did was explain to her that she had to hold hands while going up the stairs and say "No" once and now she points and says "Up" when she's ready to go upstairs. I hope she stays this agreeable, but I'm also realistic...
We have opened her "princess potty" and let her see it. She thinks its a toy for now but this fall we will attempt to begin the process. I would love to have her trained by 2 years old. My mom assures me that it can be done, my sisters and I were she tells me. In fact, she says it wasn't until recently that parents held off even starting potty training until 2 or older. In doing my research, European countries have potty trained children by 2 years old consistently. So I'm reading books and going to try and make this is a reality. She HATES getting a diaper change so I think (***hope***) she may be easier than most. Either way, it's nice to have a goal.
Ayla at Garden City Pancake House. Belgian waffle and sausage is sooo good!

This last video shows just how much coordination she has with using utensils. It gets better everyday.
As you can see, she enjoys eating and has a very healthy appetite for almost anything we give her!!
